For Parents

Parents will find information about events and daily schedules, as well as any special reports about First Steps Primeros Pasos' school activities.

First Steps Primeros Pasos uses The Creative Curriculum which is a blue print for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program for children. Our teachers will give students many opportunities to work with concrete objects and to discover the logic of how these objects behave. They will process your child's experiences and encourage them to interact with one another and to learn about each other's perspectives. Respecting that most preschoolers are in the preoperational stage of development, our teachers will give your child the time they need to master the world of concrete things and situations as they assist in opening the door to the wider world of abstract thinking.

The components of The Creative Curriculum include Blocks, Dramatic Play, Toys and Games, Art, Library, Discovery, Sand and Water, Music and Movement, Cooking, Computers and Outdoors.

There is a large community partnership aspect to First Steps Primeros Pasos, as all of us work together to help educate the children in our community. Our family outreach component (called TOGETHER) is an individually designed program that helps families develop methods to effectively advocate for their child. The first step in this process is open and respectful communication between staff, parents, students and the community.

Our teacher/student ratio is 1 to 7 -- an exceptionally high standard that allows one-on-one time with students and teachers.

First Steps Primeros Pasos will be open eleven hours a day, five days a week, Monday through Friday.

Tuition is $125 a week, and we accept Purchase of Care Plus government subsidized payment.
